hello and welcome to soul food cooking todayI'll be making shrimp and grits you will need one half pound of shrimpfour slices of maple flavored bacon 3 tablespoons of heavy cream four cups ofwater one cup of Quick grits two tablespoons of butter one-half cupshredded extra sharp white cheddar cheese 1 tablespoon of minced garlic 1green onion one and a half teaspoons of salt one-half teaspoon of pepperone-half teaspoon of Cajun seasoning and 18 teaspoon of dried parsley flakes add four cups of water one teaspoon ofsalt and your two tablespoons of butter to your pot and bring to a boil stir in grits slowly and allowed to cookon low heat for 7 minutes stirring frequently whisk in your shredded cheese then set aside in your frying pan cook bacon forapproximately 10 minutes or until brown remove bacon from pan and set aside add shrimp to bacon grease and allowed to cook for 1minute until shrimp are pink and slightly translucent next add garlic onions salt cajun seasoning pepper and lastly add in your bacon deglaze pan with heavy cream stirring for 1 minute this shrimp and grits recipe tastes greatand it's good for a weekend brunch thanks for watching and don't forget tosubscribe to soul food cooking.
