Hello friends welcome to the World's firstyoutube cooking show.
I am Nikunj Vasoya and today I am going to show you very interestingand authentic style Gujarati dal recipe.
Today I am going to cook Mung Dal for you.
Mag Dalor Mung Dal is very popular Gujarati dish, we have very simplified version of Mung Dalor Mag ni Dar, it is really really very good and simple curry just in a few Minutes youcan make it so let's take a look at ingredients one by one.
For Mung Dal or Mag ni Dar you will need, 150 gm Boiled Mung Dal or Mag ni Dar, 1 tspof Garlic and Ginger Paste, 2 chopped Green Chilies, 8-10 Curry Leaves, 1 medium sizeFinely Chopped Tomato, half tsp of Cumming Seeds, half tsp of Mustard Seeds, 1/4 tspof Turmeric Powder, 1 tsp of Red Chili Powder, half tsp of Asafetida, 1 tsp of Corianderand Cumming Seeds Powder, Salt to taste and 1 tbsp of Oil.
Here I have taken Old 150 gm of Boiled Mung Dal or Mag ni Dar, I have cooked it in PressureCooker for Two Vessels, you should not overcook this if you want to make perfect GujaratiDal or Dal nu Shaak so it is really very important and good for you to remember the thing.
InGujarat we usually use Ground Nut Oil but you can use any other kind of Oil that youhave or any other Vegetable Oil you have.
Now I am going to heat 1tb tsp Oil, our Oilhas get heated so first I am going to add Mustard Seeds, when Mustard Seeds starts Poppingadd the Cumming Seeds then Turmeric Powder and Garlic and Ginger Paste, Turmeric willgive nice Yellow and Golden Color to this Dish, you can add more or less Turmeric accordingto your need, now add the Tomatoes, I am going to cook Tomatoes for 1-2 Minutes at a veryhigh heat so it will become a little Gravy for our Curry, it will be very good for us,in this I am going to add Green Chilies, 1 tsp of Red Chili Powder you can add accordingto your taste and need, Asafetida, 1 tsp of Coriander and Cumming Seed Powder, Salt and4-5 Curry Leaves, everything is mixed perfectly so I am adding some Water around 150 ml, you canadd according to your need, if you are serving this Lentil Curry with Rotla or Rotli, Rotlameans Bread made from Millet Flour and Rotli means Chapatti Wheat Flour Chapatti then you'llneed less water as compared to serving with Rice, after cooking it for 2-3Minutes at a very high heat, it's time to add our Mung Dal or Mag ni Dar, now I am goingto cover it and cook it for 5-7 Minutes at medium low heat, after cooking it for 7 minutesI am going to turn heat off, see everything is nicely get combined, I don’t' want tomake much Gravy from it because we are going to serve it with Rotla, if you are servingthis with Rice then you have to make more Gravy if you want.
it is perfect quantityof Gravy and Dal for me.
So now it is the time to serve very special Gujarati styleDal.
