Jewish bring in Christmas with movies, Chinese food

O-hev Zedek Temple hosted their Annual "Typical Jewish Christmas" event today.

They served Chinese food.

and watched Gene Wilder movies They also got together to celebrate the first night of Hannukkah.

27 First News Reporter Cameron O'Brien spoke with Rabbi Oresky about todays celebration– and the holiday.

Twenty two people spent their day at Ohev Tzedk Temple To celebrate Christmas– in what they call the " Jewish Tradition" This celebration was also about Hanukkah The 8 day long holiday began last night at sundown.

Rabbi says its very uncommon for Hanukkah to fall on Christmas.

This rarity sheds light on the similarities between the two holidays.

Congregation members say they enjoy spending time together.

Rabbi hopes that the closeness of the two holidays will promote a spirit of friendship for Jews and Christians.
