Today we are baking delicious Asian Pear Turnovers with fresh Asian Pears.
For this delicious recipe you will need fresh asian pears, chopped walnuts, raisins, all-purpose flour, lemon juice, nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar.
you will also need Puff Pastry Sheets, egg yolk, water and a 13×18 baking sheet.
First pre-heat oven to 375 degrees (three hundred seventy-five) place wax paper on the baking sheet now spray a little nonstick spray on the wax paper.
Peel and slice the Asian Pears.
Make sure to remove the core from the pear slices.
now in a medium pot combine sliced pears, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg mix together.
on high heat bring the mixture to boil.
Once the mixture begin to boil reduce to low-heat, cover and simmer for 20 (twenty) minutes.
When the pears are fork tender remove from heat.
add chopped walnut and raisins.
now on a lightly flowered surface carefully unfold the pastry sheets.
Using a rolling pin smooth out the pastry dough and cut into equal squares.
using a slotted tablespoon add the pear filling.
now fold the pastry dough tightly so the filling will not leak out while baking.
now place the turnovers on the baking sheet using a knife place a small hole on the top of the turnovers.
Mix the water with the egg yolk for the egg wash.
Now add a little egg wash.
Bake the pear turnovers @ 375 (three hundred seventy-five) degrees for 25 (twenty-five) minutes.
