Today on The Stay At Home Chef I'm showing you how to make my Mexican Chocolate Frappe.
We love making frappes at home! They are so easy and so addicting, we could eat them every day! I have several of my favorite recipes on my website but today I'm making my Mexican Chocolate Frappe.
It brings just a little bit of heat.
You really need a high power blender for this, like a Blendtec, because it needs to be able to crush up the ice.
The first thing we need to do is get our ice in the blender.
Use 12 normal sized ice cubes, but mine are like halvsies.
So I'm using 20.
Then pour in 1/2 cup milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and then I almost always do 2 tablespoons of hot fudge.
Now I don't do coffee, but if you do at this point you'd add in 1 tablespoon of espresso powder.
Now we're going to move on to our Mexican Chocolate ingredients I have 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne pepper and this is Mexican Chocolate that I've grated and of course it just falls apart.
You need 2 tablespoons of that.
Mexican chocolate is sold in these little discs and they completely crumble and fall apart if you try and cut them.
Next we're going to put on our lid and blend it together.
You want to make sure you blend it enough to grind up all those little chunks of ice Now let's pour us a glass of frappe! Put a little whipped cream on top I like to put in a red chili pepper for garnish.
